The plaiter Masputa lives in North Kalimantan, on the island of Borneo, on the upper reaches of the Sembakung River. She tells us a story that her grandmother told her when she was a child.
A long time ago, a boy lived all alone in the world with his sister and dog.
Two ghost women brought the patterns Synumandak, Tingolun, Agigimpong and Tinambuyunan on forest banana leaves into their world, where the boy found them under the Beringin tree.
